POSITION VACANCY – RECREATION MANAGER

Lions Housing Centres is accepting applications for an experienced full-time Recreation Manager. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the recreation, volunteer and spiritual care services for the Personal Care Centre; Adult Day Programs and Independent Living. The Recreation Manager is a member of the management team and as such participates in the overall management of Lions Housing Centres.

Duties include, but not limited to:

Mentor, coach and lead recreation team and volunteers (approximately 30 staff);

 Ensure staffing levels are maintained;

 Staff scheduling

 Recreation and Volunteer recruitment;

 Ensure the program plans are developed and implemented;

 Conduct site visits for offsite day programs

 Travel within city limits is required

 Maintain monthly statistics

Qualifications

Degree in Recreation, Social work or equivalent

Five (5) years of experience in a related field

Three (3) years in a management role

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to supervise and direct the work of others

Strong computer skills

Organizational and time management skills

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

A Criminal Record Check including the vulnerable sector search and Adult Abuse Registry Check are also required.
